Chris Welch

Chris joined SRPEDD in February of 2023 as a Senior Comprehensive Planner. His background in municipal project management, grants management, and sustainability.

Prior to his work at SRPEDD, Chris was a Budget/Management Analyst for the Town of Norwood and – prior to that – a Management Fellow. There he worked extensively using data to help inform decision-making regarding municipal budgeting for the Town. Prior to this, Chris was an intern at SRPEDD’s sister agency, the Cape Cod Commission. There he contributed to help gain a greater understanding of the impacts municipal development of harbor districts has on towns.

Chris has a background in environmental policy and anthropology, including climate change/justice and policy analysis. He received his MPA and BA (in History) from Bridgewater State University. Chris is an avid hiker and reader.
