Environmental

Principal Environmental Planner

The Principal Planner works with the Environmental Planning Manager and colleagues to design projects, set deliverables and deadlines, and review work products. The Principal Environmental Planner acts independently as creative and technical lead on numerous plans, civic engagement efforts, and other work products. The position is responsible for acting as the main point of contact for communities in one sub-watershed (the Ten Mile River to Mount Hope Bay region; 6 municipalities), but will be engaged in projects throughout the SRPEDD region.

Transportation

Transit Planner

The transportation department is seeking a self-starting team player who enjoys collaborating, as well as working independently, is resourceful enough to take the initiative on projects, and works well in a hybrid setting. This position is centered around transit planning activities and the individual will act as a creative and technical assistant on numerous plans, studies, public engagement, and other work products.

SS4A Project Coordinator/Transportation Planner 

The Transportation Department is looking for an individual with strong communication and organizational skills, leadership abilities, and creative problem‐solving skills to synchronize all aspects of SRPEDD's Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan. Primary responsibilities include public engagement, data collection, collaboration with consultants, and developing the final report. The position is funded through a two-year Safe Streets and Roads for All grant contract through the federal government.

Transportation Planner

SRPEDD is seeking a transportation planner to assist with data collection efforts for our traffic count program as well as with other tasks, such as, complete streets, data entry and analysis, trails mapping and drone flights. This hire would gain experience with a wide variety of projects and public engagement.

Homeland Security

Homeland Security Specialist

The Homeland Security Specialist acts as a technical assistant on numerous SRAC- related tasks including, but not limited to: project development, management, and oversight, purchase orders, reimbursements, and vendor relations, grant writing, management, and compliance, meeting preparation, attendance and taking of minutes, stakeholder outreach, relations, and communication, inventory control, mapping, and database management, field work for Active Shooter / Hostile Event (ASHE) Response tools, drone flights, and trainings, web page development, upkeep, and management.
