Rochester, Massachusetts

Information and resources for the community of Rochester, MA.

Rochester’s farms and country roads set the tone for this lovely rural town.

A scenic crossroads known as Plumb Corner contains many civic buildings, a country store and restaurant, and all the ingredients for a proper Norman Rockwell scene. In 2012, the town became one of the several communities in the region to adopt a "Right-to-Farm" bylaw that "encourages the pursuit of agriculture, promotes agriculture-based economic opportunities, and protects farmlands within the Town of Rochester by allowing agricultural uses and related activities.” Rochester originally included the neighboring town of Mattapoisett, Marion, and parts of Wareham – don’t forget it.
