About SRPEDD

What We Do

SRPEDD serves a regional community of 27 cities and towns in southeastern Massachusetts. Our work is place-based and community-focused, meaning that we work to formulate and implement plans that will achieve real quality of life improvements on the ground, and to ensure that these plans reflect the expressed needs of civically-engaged local communities.

Whether it is through economic and community development, planning for safer streets, improving access to affordable housing, or strengthening coordination for a healthier environment, SRPEDD's regional planning mission is about building community and enhancing quality of life for everyone.

While SRPEDD may consist of Departments, we function as a team. Our planners bring a diversity of professional backgrounds and areas of expertise to our work. And SRPEDD emphasizes partnerships with each community we serve, with the state and federal government, with non-profits and community groups, and with citizens across southeastern Massachusetts.

Our work includes community master plans, regional transportation and bicycle projects, habitat restoration and watershed protection, build-out and fiscal impact scenarios, transit planning, zoning bylaws, drone surveys and 3d interior photography, economic development and infrastructure initiatives, and more.
