SRPEDD Announces a 21-day Public Comment Period and a Remote Public Meeting to hear comments for the draft FFY2023 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP)

May 26, 2022 – The draft FFY2023 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is being released for public comment. The UPWP identifies, in a single document, all of the annual transportation planning activities that are to be undertaken in the Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Area which is also the SRPEDD region, over the next federal fiscal year, from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. Planning activities include transportation studies, data collection, technical assistance to communities and other projects. New tasks include a safety and congestion study of the Route 140 corridor from Route 24 at the Route 140 Interchange north to the center of the city, and the regionwide multiyear Regional Resilience Plan. All of this work helps to shape concepts for the region’s transportation future.

A public meeting to hear comments and concerns on the draft UPWP will be held remotely on Tuesday, June 14 at 5:00 PM via Zoom. Everyone is welcome to attend, ask questions and offer comments.
