Somerset is a waterfront community with a small town, “Main Street” feel.
Located on the western shore of the Taunton River and Mount Hope Bay, its a location that provides beautiful views of the water, neighboring Fall River, and Aquidneck Island (the original “Rhode Island”) beyond. The town offers numerous opportunities (at well-loved locations such as Pierce Beach Park and the Village Waterfront Park) for boating, kayaking, water-skiing, tubing, fishing, and picnic-ing. The largest collection of Native American artifacts in southeastern Massachusetts is housed at the Somerset Historical Society.
