Sara Singh
Principal Environmental Planner
Sara earned her BS in International Business & Marketing from the University of South Carolina Honors College. Inspired by her travels to Amazonia and the climate activists at Sunrise Movement, she pivoted from software sales to environmental work. From 2020 – 2023, she conducted graduate research on PFAS contamination in the US, climate policy progress in New England, Muddy River restoration, energy grid resilience, and conservation monitoring technologies. Her dual-degree thesis “A Comparative Analysis of Wildlife Conservation in the US and India” went viral on LinkedIn. She holds an MS in Environmental Policy & Planning from Tufts’ UEP Department, and an MA in Law & Diplomacy from The Fletcher School.
Prior to joining SRPEDD, Sara served as Project Manager for an MVP Action Grant centered on environmental justice, climate resilience, and Nature-based Solutions in the Nashua River watershed. That project is now paving the way for area transformations of priority sites identified by the communities. At SRPEDD, she will serve the communities of Southeastern MA through regionwide watershed planning, open space and recreation planning, and stormwater management technical assistance. Sara’s philosophy is “Rewilding. Nature-based Solutions. Deep ecology.”
