Fairhaven’s lovely Town Center includes some of the most beautiful and architecturally significant public buildings in the country.
Its most significant architecture was gifted to his hometown by Henry Huttleston Rogers, one of the wealthiest people in American history. Fort Phoenix, completed in 1777, protected the harbor during the Revolutionary War and was in service through the Civil War. The Fort Phoenix State Beach and Reservation has a universally accessible beach, tennis and basketball courts, and hurricane barrier walk with views of Buzzards Bay.
