Transportation Planning Technician
Julianne joined SRPEDD in June 2020 as a Transportation Planning Technician. She is a recent graduate of Westfield State University where she majored in Regional Planning with a concentration in Environmental Planning. She also received a degree in Environmental Science and a minor in GIS. Her primary focus since joining SRPEDD has been aiding in data collection for the traffic counting program and organizing regional crash data.
Before beginning her work as a technician she first joined the SRPEDD team as a summer intern in 2019. During that time was her first professional experience working for a regional planning agency. Her senior project was creating a community planning educational program between the Geography, Planning, and Sustainability department and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield. The program was named “GPS Kids” and had curriculums of biweekly lessons that covered a topic of community planning. Through this she gained experience with public participation and engagement. In addition, Julianne is passionate about planning green sustainable cities, public engagement, and transportation planning.
