September 2022 MBTA Communities Update

On August 10th, 2022, DHCD issued the final guidelines for compliance for MBTA Communities subject to the requirements set forth in Section 3A of the Zoning Act. SRPEDD is currently working with the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) and DHCD to provide technical assistance to its member seeking compliance with the guidelines.

Technical Assistance

A number of technical assistance opportunities have opened or will be opening soon for application, including:

DHCD’s Technical Assistance Inquiry Form for general inquiries regarding various technical assistance sources.

Interim Compliance and What’s Next

All MBTA Communities wishing to maintain interim compliance must submit an Action Plan to DHCD by January 31st, 2023. Any Action Plans submitted after January 31st, 2023 will not establish FY24 eligibility for the funds described in Section 3A.
