This project is made possible by funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (U.S. EDA), the Massachusetts State Legislature and Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), and SRPEDD.
Based on a close reading of the 2019 Wareham Economic Development Strategy (EDS), SRPEDD and the Town of Wareham are exploring development scenarios at the John Decas School site. These scenarios draw from various EDS take-aways and build on aspects of Wareham’s existing planning with both economic and community development in mind. Exploring their different facility demands, site designs, and benefits/costs enables effective marketing to prospective firms. It also helps the Redevelopment Authority determine what public infrastructure investments and policy initiatives it should pursue to achieve its desired scenario(s).
Please see a final draft of the Decas School Redevelopment Feasibility Study here. For more information, please attend the February 16, 2021 Wareham Board of Selectmen meeting. You can also review an interactive version of the final draft report's "Action Items" here.
