Age-Friendly Communities Pilot Project

SRPEDD is honored to be working on an Age-Friendly Communities pilot project in partnership with the 11 rural communities in our service area.

SRPEDD is honored to be working on an Age-Friendly Communities pilot project in partnership with the 11 rural communities in our service area.

SRPEDD is partnering with Councils on Aging and other community stakeholders – including directly with senior citizens, themselves – in our region’s 11 rural communities to hold listening sessions and produce replicable templates for senior-centered media. These deliverables will be collaboratively identified and created with project partners. They will be anchored in the unique community characteristics of Southeastern Massachusetts.

The work products will include but not necessarily be limited to:

  1. A user-friendly, updatable 'crowd source' map for seniors that shows places and services they value in and around their community.
  2. Templates for diverse media resources to reach rural seniors and for use by rural Councils on Aging.
  3. An event kit for in-person events and listening sessions.
  4. A final report documenting activities, lessons-learned, and recommendations..
