Do you or someone you know struggle with accessing the internet? Is your internet reliable and affordable? Do you have access to a working device or router? Are you able to navigate the internet to meaningfully participate in modern day life? If your answer to any of these questions is no, we want to hear from you!
The Towns of Rochester, Marion, and Mattapoisett are working with SRPEDD to create a Regional Digital Equity Plan. This plan will analyze the current state of internet access and digital equity in the Tri-Town area and provide recommendations for the towns to address underserved populations in town to bridge the digital equity gaps.
What is Digital Equity?
According to National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) digital equity is a condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy, and economy. We want to ensure everyone in the Tri-Town– seniors, veterans, and those in need – have access to meaningfully participate in modern day society!
A key part of this plan is input from community members.
You can make your voice heard by:
- Taking the Digital Equity Survey here; or
- Stopping by the Tri Town Digital Equity Public Workshop at the Old Rochester Regional High School on December 4th from 6-8pm.
